Andrey Matveev

Born in Leningrad. Graduated Music school of Conservatory n.a. Rimsky-Korsakov (vocal department) and Theatre Arts Academy (course under A.V. Petrov).

Since 1995 he is the soloist of Children Music Theatre “Zazerkalye”.
Winner of IX TV and Theatre Festival “Revived fairytale” (Special prize of Organization Committee in nomination “For talented performing of male part in musical theatre”, Moscow, 2007).

On the stage of theatre “Zazerkalye” he performs leading parts in operas, operettas and musicals. As a member of vocal ensembles “Peacock Feather” and “Nota Bene” he became laureate of International competitions three times.
Since 1998 he continuously collaborates with cinema companies and TV-channels working in the field of dub and offscreen postscoring of movies and TV-programs. Main characters of various cartoon films are speaking and singing by his voice. He acted in films “Way out” and “Rush Hour”.

In 2010 Andrey was awarded with the honorary title "Honored Artist of Russia".

Diploma-holder of the Golden Sofit-2011 and Golden Mask-2012 (best male opera part – Akaky Akakievich, From Petersburg to Mirgorod, Zazerkalye Children Musical Theatre).

Since 2011 he takes part in the performances of the St. Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy. From 2011 to 2014 he played the part of Professor Abronsius in «Dance of Vampires» the musical. In 2012 for his role as Professor Abronsius he was nominated for Award "Musical heart of the theatre".

He plays the parts of an Old actor extras and Judge Apfelbaum in the musical comedy "The Hollywood diva", the part of Daddy Kugler in the operetta "Viennese blood" by J.Strauss.
